What the.......?

Already a quarter of the way through 2013 and obviously my blog posts are not as frequent as intended!!!!

Over recent months I have been changing the way I think about my attempts at making some sort of foray into the world of a WAHM (work at home mum), my role as a mother and wife, and the way I view the world and life in general.  And I have to say it is quite amazing what a difference small changes in your thinking can make to your overall sense of fulfilment and happiness.

The biggest and most important change has been in trusting that Life will take care of me.  And why wouldn't I trust it, it has got me through 36 years, even though many times I've thought 'this is the end, there is no way I can come out the other side of this', and yet, here I am.

So I now no longer worry about what is going to happen tomorrow, what bills might come in, what the next 'disaster' will be and what on earth we would do if 'this or that' happened but rather simply enjoy the fact that right this minute everything is fine, good, even wonderful, that I don't want for anything that is actually vital to my existence, that I am, dare I say it, OK.

I don't think many of us really appreciate this very moment because we are always looking forward, to where we want to be or what we want to accomplish or backwards, to what we used to be or used to have.  The only thing that really makes any difference is who we are this very second and as time is moving so quickly now it would be sad to let this moment pass without acknowledging it.

Here are some things I am thankful for right this minute:

I am thankful for life.

I am thankful for being blessed with my beautiful children and the husband who chose me, out of all the women out there, he chose me.

I am thankful for the roof over my head, I may no longer own it but it is there just the same.

I am thankful for the ability to connect with people who understand me and my passion for craft, via this incredible anomaly we call technology.

And there are a million more things I can think of to be thankful for.  Please feel free to share your own gratitudes for life in a comment below.

I would like over the next little while to integrate my Facebook business page with this blog a little more and so will be sharing my latest creations and holding a competition or two as the time allows so please keep following.

Meanwhile, I'm quite taken with my latest knitted doll and she will be available tomorrow night in my Hand-Made.com.au store.

Beautiful Things

Wow 2013 is off to a flying start!!  The school holidays seem to have knocked me for six, along with plenty of other Mum's I'm sure but as they are now very much at the end I am just a little bit sad.  Still I am excited to get into my creating again and being far more productive than I have been over the last two months, when nothing much at all seemed to be accomplished creatively speaking :)
I would like 2013 to be about all things good in the world, about making changes that give me inspiration and joy and that teach my children what is really important and meaningful in this crazy, fast-paced, consumer-driven world.
So while I have a few minutes before the next round of 'I'm hungry' 'I'm thirsty' 'I'm bored' begins, I just wanted to share with you a small business run by a beautiful lady and hope that you might take a minute to check out the loveliness she creates.

I am about to become the proud owner of one of these beautiful creations and I feel truly blessed.  It's not silly for a grown woman to have what might be seen as 'a child's toy' and a 'pointless, dust collector', we all can have beautiful things to cherish, whatever they might be.   And this particular doll means a lot to me.

Thank you Amy, I truly appreciate your talent, creativity and craftsmanship.

Until next time,

Kazza xx
